Jillian is a finance executive with over 15 years’ experience analyzing, communicating, and forecasting financial results. Through Symetra’s community engagement program, she learned about EGH and was inspired by the stories of the women that it has served. Jillian joined the Board of Directors at EGH because she believes that its values of Respect, Inclusion, Community, and Empathy are critical to making a positive impact on people’s lives.

Emily is a Senior Program Officer on the Philanthropic Partnerships team at the Gates Foundation. She works with philanthropists to curate offerings, build relationships, and create pathways that accelerate progress on global health and development issues. Hailing from the PNW, Emily was introduced to EGH over a decade ago through the Seattle Lutheran church community. She’s a huge proponent of EGH’s work and joined the Board because of its welcoming approach and commitment to the lives of women in our community.

Andrew is a Senior Investment Manager at Schnitzer West and leads the firm’s technical analysis of all capitalization efforts and helps oversee management of the company’s investment capital. Andrew received his MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. He joined the EGH board to make a positive impact in his local community.

Adam is a broadcaster here in the Seattle area and has honed his craft for over two decades in radio and television. Concurrently, his background stretches into engineering and I.T. which allows him to combine the artistic and scientific parts of his brain. He is looking to make a bigger positive impact in the community.

Andy Flatt-Kuntze is the pastor of University Lutheran Church. He is passionate about making known God’s love for all people, especially those who are most vulnerable. Pastor Andy is an agent for justice, both in the church and in the world. While activism and advocating are incredibly important to him, Pastor Andy also listens deeply and with great empathy. Pastor Andy believes storytelling can change the world.

Anne serves as a Finance Director at Microsoft advocating and driving compliance across commercial and consumer products. She also has a background in accounting and holds a Certified Public Accountant license. Anne joined the EGH board to give back to the community and improve/enrich the lives of all individuals that walk into EGH.

Jeannie was a federal prosecutor enforcing wage, safety, and whistleblower protections for the American workforce for over 25 years. In the mid-1990s, she established, staffed, and coordinated a street law program for Seattle’s downtown homeless community through an alternative bar association. She is on the board of a foundation that supports independent investigative journalism, actively participates in Legal Gateway’s Civil Rights Clinic, and helps public housing students with their homework. She lives in N.E. Seattle.

Lisa has 23 years of banking experience, holding various SVP and Executive roles. She enjoys serving as a trusted advisor to businesses and their owners in the Pacific Northwest. She was first introduced to EGH by a colleague who invited her to EGH’s gala. Lisa joined the board to support the critical work EGH is doing for at-risk women in our community.

Lonness Valenna is an advocate for our diverse clients as well as a breath of fresh air, a fairy godmother, a past client who has experienced homelessness, and EGH helped her overcome homelessness. She has been a volunteer in the EGH kitchen, and she wants to give back the enormous kindness she was shown by staff while she was a guest of EGH. Lonness has been a board member of the Gender Alliance of South Sound and was a founding board member of the Gender Justice League.

Maggie Griffith is a Program Manager of Events at Fred Hutch, where she plans donor engagement, stewardship, and fundraising events that bring people together around a shared mission. She is energized by building relationships and learning what inspires people to give back. Maggie joined the EGH board because she believes everyone deserves to live with dignity and is motivated to support an organization that creates opportunities for women to thrive.

Stella currently works as a medical assistant and is preparing to apply to physician assistant programs. She has a strong commitment to compassionate, equitable healthcare. After first connecting with EGH as a volunteer, Stella is honored to now serve on the board of directors. Having personally faced housing instability and other barriers, she understands the importance of community, dignity, and support in rebuilding one’s life. This lived experience has allowed her to have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by clients at EGH, and she is passionate about advocacy for women navigating similar circumstances. She is committed to supporting EGH’s mission of empowering women to find pathways towards independence through resources, housing, and care.
