For the past 15 years, the Elizabeth Gregory Home Day Center has been a welcoming and respectful refuge where women who experience homelessness, economic insecurity, and trauma have access to a caring community and to essential needs such as meals, clothing, laundry, showers, computers, as well as connections to healthcare and housing.  Over 1,000 meals are prepared in our Day Center kitchen per month.

Generous donors have made it possible for us to remodel our community dining room, commission a new outside mural, and construct a commercial kitchen.  We are close to finishing our facility refresh – purchasing furniture for the Day Center and kitchen supplies.

You can help us create a warm, welcoming environment for our clients by making a gift toward our furniture purchases.* Our staff has worked hard to choose pieces that are not only functional, but utilize trauma-informed design concepts to provide a good experience for our clients.

SMALL ROUND TABLE

$230 each

Four small round tables in our Community Room will be quiet spaces for women to sit alone or with others.

RECEPTION DESK

$650

A new reception desk will provide a safe space for our Day Center Coordinator to work to check in guests.

PLANTS

$35 each

Ten plants will provide color, promote a sense of peace, and are part of our trauma-informed design.

BOOKSHELF

Three bookshelves will hold resource pamphlets, donated books and baskets of essentials such as sunblock.

 BENCH SEATS

Four bench seats will be comfortable places for women to sit while eating or talking with Day Center staff.

LARGE ROUND TABLE

Two large round tables will be a great place for women to connect and create a community of support.

SET OF LOCKERS

Six sets of lockers will be a safe and secure place for clients to store their belongings during the day.

SQUARE TABLE

Four square tables in the Community Room will allow our guests to have space for eating and socializing.

LARGE COOKING POTS

Large pots are needed for our kitchen staff cook who prepare food for over 1,000 meals per month.

SET OF SKILLETS

New skillets for our new commercial kitchen – allowing our staff to saute healthy food for our clients.
