More than 400 supporters gathered for Elizabeth Gregory Home’s 13th Annual Dinner, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, on March 17, 2019. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this year’s annual fundraising dinner such a huge success. Our goal of raising $200,000 was exceeded! We expanded into our new venue at the University of Washington’s Husky Union Building (HUB) and celebrated the growth and accomplishments of the past year. It was also a wonderful opportunity to catch up with new and past supporters alike.
It was a powerfully moving evening that featured three EGH clients, Carolyn, Helen and Dylan who shared their stories. Each described their journey of becoming homeless, and how life has changed as a result of the supportive services they received through EGH. They shared what it’s like to be homeless and how EGH has helped them turn their lives around. Dylan, who participates in Elizabeth Gregory Home’s Transitional Housing Program, went back to school, recently passed the Emergency Medical Technician examination, and is now a certified EMT. Carolyn and Helen continue to navigate the shelter system in Seattle while accessing EGH support in order to meet their basic needs as well as secure permanent housing. The event raised over $200,000 allowing Elizabeth Gregory Home to continue to provide a safe and compassionate refuge from the streets to even more vulnerable women over the next year. We are so grateful for the remarkable support from our generous community of individuals and business sponsors!
Thank you! Grateful thanks to Joshua Huston for his beautiful photography!
